The Covid-19 pandemic has taken an unprecedented toll on everyone, and in particular in specific industries. Lockdowns, limitations on gatherings and events, and other safety guidelines have disrupted the continuity and survival of artistes such as musicians, singers, photographers etc. Having identified this challenge, JAT Holdings initiated programmes to support such personalities through sponsorships and strategic partnerships.

On 16th May 2021, JAT Holdings supported the Western Music Association (WMA) of Sri Lanka by providing its state-of-the-art auditorium as the venue for a virtual concert. The concert was organized to generate funds for its members who are in dire straits after being kept away from their livelihoods due to pandemic restrictions. Since the pandemic stopped all live music events, the WMA Executive Committee has worked tirelessly to distribute essential items and vouchers amongst its registered members. The virtual concert was attended by a mix of local and overseas audiences and was able to generate funds that were distributed amongst its membership through bank transfers.

Commenting on the contribution JAT Holdings made to this event as venue partner, Fabion Bonnie Paul, President - Western Musicians Association said, “The impact made by JAT Holdings with their contribution towards making the event a success was immense. The facilities provided were well above industry standards, and the auditorium was the perfect venue for the event. The WMA extends its sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors and staff of JAT Holdings who by their support enabled the realization of our dream to carry out this extremely successful virtual concert that helped fellow musician brothers and sisters in times of need”.

As a renowned conglomerate in Sri Lanka with a strong social compass at its core and the desire to give back to the community, JAT Holdings considers these sponsorships and partnerships as great opportunities to empower people and communities, especially in times of crisis.
