Amidst the backdrop of a challenging business landscape, JAT Holdings PLC achieved its best financial results in the history of the company in the 2022/23 fiscal year. Under the theme "Celebrating Success and Powering Growth," JAT Excellencia 2023 recognized and celebrated the contributions of over 400 employees of the company, while also rewarding 36 selected employees from all levels of the company for their exemplary performance and for upholding the company values of JAT throughout the year. Organized by the Group Human Resources Department, JAT Excellencia 2023 took place at the Imperial Monarch Thalawathugoda on the 8th of September 2023.
This year’s event holds special significance as the company celebrated not only the achievements of the past year but also the remarkable milestone of JAT Holdings completing its 30th year. Led by the Founder and Managing Director, Aelian Gunawardene, Chairman Dr. Sivakumar Selliah, CEO Nishal Ferdinando, and the senior management team, the 30-year celebration was symbolized with the cutting of a cake representing all employees. The Managing Director’s award for the Employee of the Year was awarded to Shamara Wanniarachchi, Country Head – Bangladesh in recognition of his outstanding performance during the year. Standing as a pinnacle in JAT’s company calendar, JAT Excellencia 2023 was a grand tribute and celebration of the exceptional individuals who, through their performance, have exemplified excellence.
The highlight of the night was the performances, which were orchestrated and executed by JAT’s very own staff, showcasing their talent in singing and dancing with a special duet and mashup that entertained the gathering. Moreover, the wooden plaques presented to the winners were also conceptualized and designed by the in-house team.
The event was graced by Mr. Dilantha Malagamuwa as the guest of honour. In his guest speech, Mr. Malagamuwa shared his inspirational story of how he overcame various challenges and resistance in his career as a veteran racer that brought fame and pride to Sri Lanka in the international motorsports arena.
